Langkawi Island is just off the north coast of Malaysia. It was rated by Conde Naste as one of the ten top islands in the world. We arrived at the Sheraton Langkawi and immediately headed for the pool – one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. It overlooks the sea and half of it is shaded by huge palm trees. Ocean side it’s an infinity pool and when you’re swimming it feels like you are in the sea.
Although the pool was ten on ten, we were disappointed with the beach. We expected clear aqua water, but the visibility was nil. There was also a sign saying ‘Beware of Jellyfish’ and although the season has pretty well passed, we didn’t want to take a risk, especially with Brendan and his allergies.
The good news as we played tennis, hung at the pool and enjoyed our vacation within our vacation ;)
