May 8 Zulu Land

Nothing quite like zulu culture, beer (!), and entertainment.
Deb: Today was Di’s birthday and, unfortunately, she is feeling very ill. Despite being ‘down for the count’ she joined us for the 45 minute ride to Bushlands to a see a real Zulu village. The tour was incredible. The Zulus actually live in the village and demonstrate, three times a day, what their traditional life-style is like. We saw how the Zulus made tools, medicine, baskets, beadwork, etc. We were then treated to a incredible presentation of traditional dancing. A three-year-old little Zulu boy ended up stealing the show. He ran around the group and mimicked their dancing and he had us all in stitches!

That night the Kuffner clan went out for Greek food. Di and Brenda went home to rest. I was very worried that Di had an ‘African illness’ or was sick due to the water. We would have to wait to see how she was feeling in the morning.
