We walked towards the Pyramids and towards one of Sheri’s favourite camel drivers. Unforgettable: camel riding! We took our tour on camels – two per camel, Brendan and Joe riding together and Deb and Ryan. We got used to it quickly and we were off to circumnavigate the 9 (yes, 9) pyramids at Giza (pronounced Jee-za). Of course the 3 big ones drew our attention as they have of Pharoahs and people for 3500 years. I would like to see the business case for that undertaking! 2.5 million stones each, with the lightest at 10 tons and the heaviest at 20 tons! Even todays cranes cannot handle these loads in these conditions! And then to have them survive earthquakes, tomb raiders, weather and goodness knows what else for these thousands of years, just to be around for the Kuffners to take them in. Thank you.
