Day 3
The chocolate croissants were heavenly at breakfast.

Le Louvre
We were up early and took a bus to the Louvre. We opted for the tour of the main masterpieces and got headsets so that we could learn in detail about the Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo, the Winged Victory of Samothrace, and a few other famed works of art (like the Mona Lisa).

The Louvre was so overwhelming even though we had decided to do only one of the pavillions. We spent an hour doing our audio tour and then ‘got lost’ among the galleries. The scale of the grand halls was stupefying. That every king felt the need to ‘add onto the royal palace’ seemed unfathomable.

Little wonder that the peasants revolted!




The headset are definitely the way to go!
