April 15 Robberg is Amazing

Robberg Nature Trail: 4 hours of coastline hiking bordering on treacherous! But, beautiful. Amazing views of the Plett bay, seals and ocean creatures (we later saw dolphins but it is out of season for the hundreds of whales that raise their calves in these waters). The hike was excellent and the weather erfect. Sunny with a cool Indian ocean breeze. As we approached the fnlal few metres of the 9+Km, we didn’t want it to end (OK we were just saying that!). The boys had long finished an were waiting patiently for us!

Afterwards, we were picnicking when the siren sounded and the sea rescue unit went ito action. A call from the hill that a diabetic hiker had blood-sugar “crashed” and risked slipping into coma. Within moments the hiker had been located (by their cell phone call) and the rescue crew were en route both by land and by sea. The parents of the victim were at the picnic area with us and Deb swung into action to comfort them. In the end, all was fine.

Later we went to the beach and finally back to Emily Moon to clean up and enjoy our steaks! This time with the boys. Delicious.
Now afterwards, we are enjoying the SA night sky. Again, life is good.
